When is the next FIFA Football Agent Exam? As of 7 October 2026, FIFA has not published the dates of the 2027 edition. Here is what is known for sure, the 2026 timeline for reference, how an application works from start to finish, and how to plan your revision without waiting for the announcement.
The 2027 edition: not announced yet
On its official page about becoming a licensed football agent, checked on 7 October 2026, FIFA only lists the 2026 edition. No application window and no exam date have been published for 2027. We will not guess them for you.
What FIFA has decided is the rhythm. Since 2025, it holds one exam edition per year, and the application period lasts 45 days. That decision was announced in circular no. 1891 of 3 July 2024, after discussions within the Football Agent Working Group, and it still appears on FIFA's page.
The 2026 edition, for reference
The 2026 edition is over. Its timeline gives an idea of the rhythm, not an announcement for 2027:
| Step | 2026 edition |
|---|---|
| Application window | 20 January to 6 March 2026 |
| End of the pre-exam readiness check | 14 April 2026 |
| Exam sessions | 28, 29 and 30 April 2026, plus 5, 6 and 7 May 2026 |
| Results | 4 June 2026 |

Dates change from one edition to the next
FIFA's circulars show how much the calendar has moved:
- May 2024: applications from 9 January to 31 March 2024, exam on 22 May 2024 (circular no. 1874).
- November 2024: applications from 19 August to 4 October 2024, exam on 20 November 2024 (circular no. 1891).
- June 2025: circular no. 1891 had planned a May 2025 exam; circular no. 1919 of 13 January 2025 moved it to 18 June 2025, with applications from 4 March to 17 April, when the exam went online.
- April and May 2026: the sixth edition, described above.
The lesson: never plan around last year's dates. Plan around the moment FIFA publishes the new ones, and be ready before.
How an application works
- Create your account on the FIFA Agent Platform and submit a complete application within the window (art. 4.1 of the FIFA Football Agent Regulations).
- Eligibility check by the FIFA general secretariat (art. 5.3): no conviction for the listed offences, no conflict of interest with a club or federation, no unlicensed agent work in the past 24 months, among others. The list is in How to become a FIFA football agent.
- Invitation to the exam if you are eligible (art. 6.1).
- Technical check of your laptop and connection before the exam, as in 2026.
- Exam, online, then results a few weeks later (in 2026, five weeks after the first session).
- Licence fee to pay within 90 days of passing, or the application is declared void (art. 7.3). The licence is then issued for an indefinite period (art. 8).
Common trap. Some think they can skip the exam thanks to their past. The exemption for agents licensed under FIFA's old regulations required an application by 30 September 2023 (art. 23.1 a): that door is closed. For anyone starting now, the exam is the way in.
Plan backwards from a date you don't know
If you start revising the day applications open, you are already chasing the ball: in 2026 the first exam session came about 14 weeks later, and the application itself takes time. A calendar that works whatever the dates:
- Now: build your knowledge text by text, starting with the agent regulations and the RSTP. Twenty to thirty minutes a day is enough to start.
- When applications open: apply early in the window, not on the last day, then keep revising.
- After the window closes: switch to full mock exams in 60 minutes, and review every mistake with its article.
- The last week: complete the technical check, set up your laptop, and only revise your weak spots.
The detailed method is in How to study for the FIFA agent exam, and the exam format in How to pass the FIFA Football Agent Exam.
Where to watch for the announcement
Three places: FIFA's page on becoming a licensed football agent, the FIFA Agent Platform, and FIFA's circulars on its legal documents page. We update this article as soon as FIFA publishes the 2027 dates.
